Hinduism by percentage of country population

Hinduism is most prevalent in Nepal (75% of the country population) and India (74%). Also, in Asia, Bhutan, United Arab Emirates, and Sri Lanka have Hindu percentages of population between 13% and 22%. The island nations of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean and Fiji in the Pacific have Hindu populations making up 49% and 28% of the population, respectively. In Latin America and the Caribbean, Guyana, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago are also in the top 10 countries globally in terms of Hindu percentage.

From the prayer guide Operation World:

Hinduism has become more militant and repressive of Christians in its heartlands of India and Nepal, reacting against the evangelism and growth of the Church.

The Indian sub-continent has the largest concentration and variety of least-reached peoples and people groups on earth. The gospel has spread most to the poor and marginalized, while the main body of caste Hindus remains unevangelized … Contextualized, culturally appropriate patterns of Christian life, worship and community are needed. Pray for the Holy Spirit to bring the light of the gospel to influential Hindus.
