It is estimated that European nations received 3.4 million immigrants in 2012 (according to this report from Eurostat). Germany received the most immigrants (592,000), followed by the United Kingdom (498,000), Italy (351,000), France (327,000), Spain (304,000), and Poland (218,000). There were six countries with between 100,000 – 200,000 immigrants arriving in 2012, and 22 countries with less than 100,000.

Note that some of these immigrants arrived from other European countries, and some immigrants were returning to the state where they are citizens.
